From 31st October till 3rd November 2019 European Association “World-Our Home” organized the first Preparatory meeting for Europe for Citizens, Remembrance project “15th Anniversary of EU Enlargement” Nr.609177-CITIZ-1-2019-1-LV-CITIZ-REMEM in cooperation with partner organizations from Poland (KOBIETY.LODZ.PL), Lithuania (Unique Projects) and Estonia (MTÜ Noored Toredate Mõtetega). The meeting was attended by 11 participants (partners).

The European Union was fundamentally changed in 2004 when it enlarged to Central and Eastern Europe. European idea and transforming an economic union into a union of shared values, peace, and solidarity were the foundation for the enlargement of the European Union 15 years ago.

This anniversary is an excellent starting point for analyses and debates on the Eastern countries' transition from dictatorship to democracy and their 15 years of integration and achievements after the EU expansion.
The aims of the project "15th Anniversary of EU Enlargement" are to raise awareness of citizens about an important historical, economic and political event in 2004 - the enlargement of the EU, which was the largest expansion of the EU in terms of territory, number of states and population, to involve into the project social organizations, town municipalities, museums, libraries, universities and schools for cross-sectoral cooperation to achieve more success in this project and to create the stable network of Eastern European countries with the aim to disseminate the values of the EU among European and neighboring countries, to strengthen the EU on its eastern border, to work together for the benefits of the EU.

During the first Preparatory meeting we discussed with partners the project details, we presented our ideas to celebrate important events in the European Union and to involve local people in the project activities. This first meeting consisted in thinking about strategy, and tasks to do and share.

Now, the main aim is to appoint the topics of our research and after to study and debate the main topic people are more interested in and worried about.

In doing so we want to involve, in our project, organizations, town municipalities, museums, libraries universities, and schools.
